FiSH - 10-13, MAY 2012
FiSH - Festival im StadtHafen Rostock (Festival in the city harbor Rostock) - is an annual spring event for the young German film scene, starting from 2004. Federal competition JUNGER FILM is in the focus of attention and consists of the best non-commercial short films of the year with the publicly changing jury. SehSterne with its films, reports and documentaries from and about Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), sparkles nearby.
Our FiSH special - an international guest country window - is a forum for ambitious young directors from one of our Baltic neighbors, changing from year to year. In addition, the Medienanstalt M-V and the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture give the Medienkompetenz-Preis M-V for the best media-educational project of the land.
FiSH attracted more than 4.000 movie fans to the city harbor of Rostock. The festival is under patronage of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Prime Minister.

3500 glückliche FiSH-Besucher – Danke an alle Helfer und Unterstützer!

Beim FiSH 2013 wollten nicht nur mehr Filmemacher als jemals zuvor dabei sein, auch unsere Besucherzahlen gingen dieses Jahr durch die Decke. Der JUNGE FILM im M.A.U. Club lockte rund 400 Besucher mehr in den Saal als noch im Vorjahr, die SehSterne im li.wu und in der Bühne 602 toppten die letztjährigen Besucherzahlen um mehr als 200 Kinofans.

"Koora" ist Kurzfilm des Jahres, "Meyer" Publikumsliebling

Am anderen Ende der Welt drehte Daniel Asadi Faezi „Koora“. Im Rostocker Stadthafen wurde die neuneinhalb-minütige Dokumentation über indische Müllsammler in einem Armenviertel Kalkuttas nun „Film des Jahres“ im FiSH-Wettbewerb JUNGER FILM.

Seit 2006 vergibt die „Initiative Musik“ der deutschen Musikwirtschaft den Live Entertainment Award, um außergewöhnliches Engagement in der Veranstaltungsbranche auszuzeichnen. In diesem Jahr hat einer unserer langjährigsten Partner, der M.A.U. Club, in diesem Wettbewerb den zweiten Platz belegt und damit natürlich auch das FiSH stolz gemacht!
