The Prize of Media Competence of the Medienanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Deadline

February 10, 2010
In the context of FiSH X, the Festival im StadtHafen (Festival at the CityPort) in Rostock during April 16th to 18th of 2010, the Medienanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Media Institute Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), MMV, and the Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Department for Education, Science and Culture Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) are once again tendering two prizes of media competence.
The prize of media competence of the MMV is bestowed for extraordinary projects of media competence of schools, educational providers, groups from recreational and children facilities, clubs or youth initiatives from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (M-V).
With the prize of media competence of the Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur, media educational projects of schools in particular are awarded.
Admitted for submission are media educational projects started or realised in M-V in 2009/10 with which media knowledge was or is conveyed. The projects can stem from all areas of media educational work. From websites or radio plays up to telecasts everything can be submitted. There is no age limit. Schools can apply for both prizes.
From the projects submitted for the contest for the prize of media competence a professional jury selects the best to be presented in Rostock on April 16th, 2010. That way the event offers a short insight into the multitude of media educational work in M-V.
"In 2010 the prize of media competence of M-V celebrates its fifth anniversary", says director of MMV, Uwe Hornauer, "since five years it presents and awards the most innovative and fascinating projects of media competence of M-V. Over and over again I was delighted by the multitude and quality of the submitted projects. Therefore I’m looking forward to the fifth prize of media competence and the submitted projects."
The contest is hosted by the MMV and the Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur in cooperation with the Institut für neue Medien (Institute for New Media) Rostock and the Open Channels of M-V as well as with support of the LAG-Medien and the GMK-Regionalgruppe M-V.
The prize money is 1.500 EUR and is meant to be used to facilitate further media educational projects.
